International Symphony Orchestra


Announces Orchestra Openings for
2008/2009 “A Perfectly Seasoned Affair”
 

The International Symphony Orchestra is currently inviting auditions from musicians in our bridged communities wishing to be part of the orchestra’s  2008/2009 Season – “A Perfectly Seasoned Affair”. String players are most urgently encouraged to come forward, however some openings are available in the wind, brass, and percussion sections of the orchestra.  The first rehearsal is scheduled for Tuesday, September 23rd, 7:30 p.m. Room 60, Fine Arts Building, St. Clair County Community College in Port Huron. Auditions will take place that evening between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.

 The International Symphony Orchestra is currently in its fiftieth-first season of offering quality performances held on both sides of the St. Clair River.  This year the orchestra will present a wide variety of programmes, including: A Fiddler’s Take on the Symphony; Northern Lights; Magnificent Messiah; A Celtic Classic; French Flavour; Great Inspirations; and Sax at the Symphony.  In addition, two youth education concerts will take place at McMorran Auditorium, along with other special community events including the “Music Makes Sound Sense” in-school educational initiative.
